Second Place Winner, 2011 Tasty Image Video Competition

 

Our second place prize in the 2011 Tasty Image Video Competition goes to Tim Armstrong of Santa Barbara, California.  We wanted to learn more about Tim and his aspirations.  Here is a transcript of our interview with him:

Are you a student?

I am a recent graduate from Wakato University in New Zealand and The University of California in Santa Barbara, The United States. 

Are you a professional in video production or any other field?

I am a freelance film maker.  I have a degree in film and media and have been actively involved in the industry from the age of 16. Earlier this year my production company Grand Cheval Productions won a New Zealand film festival after competing against 800 other teams. The New Zealand film commission has provided funding for us to shoot a feature film. I will be flying to New Zealand in December through January to assist with production and edit.  

What are your plans after this?

• Practice the art
• Make as many films as possible
• Enter contests 
• Film weddings 
• Make commercials 
• Shoot music videos

Where do you live?

I live in Isla Vista, Santa Barbara, California. This is close to UCSB where I went to college. I am still working on some projects with the school.

How did you get started doing this?

I went travelling in Asia with some friends when I was 16 and decided to make a video for everyone. 

Has winning this award helped further your dreams, and how?

Winning this award inspires further confidence in what I do. I will use the prize money to invest in better lenses for my camera. This will increase the production values making my films look more professional.

We Bring Chocolate to Life!

Announcing the WINNERS of the $1,000 FIRST PRIZE in the Tasty Image 2011 Video Competition:  Drew Elam, Nick Eagles and Zack Eagles.

  

Nick, Zack and Drew are college students in Nashville, Tennessee who are also working at FedEx Ground to pay their way.

We asked our video contest participants to demonstrate our motto, "We bring chocolate to life" in a hip, fun way and we think these boys have really hit the nail on the head with this amusing pop-rap approach.

Drew created the original score and lyrics for this video; Nick and Zack are the actor-singers.  We recently engaged them in an interview to find out more about them.  Click below to read the full interview.
