Want to see your picture on a chocolate bar? That’s the concept behind the launch of Chocolography’s new website this month. Chocolography - our sister company - designs, manufacturers and sells the printing technology that we use to make custom Tasty Image chocolates for you. Their new website lets you upload your own photos, view the printing process, and experiment with food imaging in a virtual world.
The printing process uses edible food coloring in print cartridges that look very similar to an ordinary office printer. “The image resolution is great,” says public relations manager Mary Baker. “People send us all kinds of images—their pets, their kids, their friends, their business logos—we do it all.”
Chocolography sells and licenses the Food Imaging System, which can be used as a stand-alone business or incorporated into an existing business. “It’s a good match for caterers and party planners,” says Baker, “as it gives them plenty of creative options and another source of revenue.”
Tasty Image hosts the retail website and offers franchise packages that combine the Food Imaging System with the powerful brand and marketing muscle of Tasty Image. Tasty Image founder Derri Cerbone hopes to see Tasty Image kiosks appearing in malls across the U.S. “It’s such a fun idea and it has so many applications. For instance, at malls teens love to shop together; so they can get new clothes, new haircuts, then stop by a Tasty Image store and have a glamour shot done and we’ll put it on a chocolate lollipop for them.”
Cerbone also points out that Tasty Image franchise stores offer more than just chocolate—store owners are encouraged to become an event hub for chocolate lovers, and the franchise has experience in hosting chocolate tastings, candy making classes, field trips and summer chocolatier camps.
Orders for custom printed chocolates can be placed online at www.tastyimage.com. Information about technology licenses and franchise opportunities is available online at www.chocolography.com.
